Storytelling, A group exhibition of portfolios at gallery neptune brown

gallery neptune & brown presents Storytelling, a group exhibition of portfolios. While a story can be told on one canvas or in one print, these portfolios allow for deeper exploration.
Artists: Christiane Baumgartner, Adam Pendleton, William Kentridge, Per Kirkeby, Kiki Smith, Mickalene Thomas, Linda Schwarz, James Siena, and Peter Downsbrough.
On view September 11 – October 16, 2021.
View the e-catalog here.

The artist portfolio could be compared to the novel. The novelist uses chapters to build the themes and characters which make up a story. An artist creates portfolios in much the same way, using each print to create a story out of individual images or moments.
