Gallery Visit and Curator Conversation

Works on Paper by Werner Drewes

Please join us on Saturday, November 16, 2:00 pm for a viewing and discussion of artist Werner Drewes’ works on paper with exhibition curator Karen Drewes Seibert.

The Triangle Art Studios exhibition features works on paper that span Drewes’ career, from his Bauhaus studies, to his multi-plate woodcuts, to the collages created in his later years. The exhibition includes pastels and watercolors publicly exhibited for the first time. More information about the exhibition can be found here.

A reception will follow the curator’s talk.

Attendance is limited to 20 WPC members and their guests. Please use the blue “button” below to RSVP. Members may register for themselves and one guest.

WPC 60th Anniversary Collectors’ Exhibition
The DMV collects the DMV
Kreeger Museum
Until February 1, 2025

Curated by Laura Roulet, the exhibition is a collaboration with the Kreeger Museum, an institution with a strong commitment to exhibiting work by artists in the greater DC area. Drawn from the collections of WPC members, the The DMV Collects the DMV includes works on paper by an array of artists, showcasing the talent within the greater Washington, DC area and the collectors who support them.

Cheryl Edwards and Cianne Fragione have had work acquired by the DC Art Bank.

Cianne Fragione’s exhibition Isole: A Voyage Among My Dreams is on view at St. Mary’s College Museum of Art, Moraga CA until June 22, 2025. More informatin about the exhibition is available here.

Helen Frederick and Chris Mona’s collaborative and solo projects are on view at the Rice Gallery, McDaniel College, Westminster MD. Until December 13.

Susan Goldman’s exhibition of her work at the Athenaeum Gallery in Alexandria runs until December 8. Reception: Sunday, November 10, 4:00 – 6:00 pm. Artist’s talk, Saturday, November 30, 1:00 pm.More information here.

Mira Hecht’s exhition at the American University Museum, Katzen Arts Center, in the center thereof rose a fountain, runs through December 8.

Mary Welch Higgins is curating an exhibition at the Brentwood Arts Exchange, Brentwood, MD. Beyond Networks: Work by New Image Artists runs November 4 – January 4. Reception November 9, 5:00 pm. Artist talk December 7, 2:00 pm. More information here.

Robert Hunter’s print Toxic Silence was selected for the 2024 Fletcher Exhibition of Political and Socially Engaged Art held at the Reece Museum on the Campus of East Tennessee State University. The Exhibition runs until December 6.In addition, Robert will be showing two prints in the American Color Print Society’s Annual Exhibition sponsored by the Plastic Club of Philadelphia  PA. November 3 – 21.

linn meyers has had a work acquired by the Kreeger Museum. linn will be in conversation with Hirshhorn Museum curator Anne Reeve on Saturday, November 9, 3:00 pm. The program is free with museum admission. More information here.

Randi Reiss McCormack has had a work acquired by the US State Department’s Art in Embassies program. Lift Off is now traveling to the US embassy in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

Susan Due Pearcy will open her Sugarloaf Studio to the public for the Countryside Artisans Holiday Tour, December 6, 7 and 8th from 10:00am to 5:00pm each day.  Her studio is located at 21900 Beallsville Road, Barnesville, MD  20838. More information here.

Soledad Salame was featured in the National Gallery of Art’s 9 Latinx Artists to Know.

Karen Seibert is curating an exhibition of works on paper by Werner Drewes at the Triangle Art Studios in Bethesda, MD, until November 30 (See above). There will be a conversation with independent curator Ann Shafer on November 9 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm about the famed Atelier 17 project.

Deborah Smith has works from her collection featured in the Strathmore exhibition, Art Flow(s): Perspectives from the African Diaspora. The exhibition runs until November 7. 

Joyce Wellman has three works in the Phillips Collection exhibition Breaking it Down: Conversations from the Vault. Until January 19, 2025. More information here.

Julie Wolfe will be exhibiting, speaking about, and signing her new publication The Beholder, a collaboration between the artist and the collective PAN. 11:00 am, November 23, at HEMPHILL. Click here to RSVP.

Gary Zuercher’s black and white photographs of the bridges of Paris at night, which were featured in his book The Glow of Paris, will be on display from November 29 through January 21, 2025 at the Parc de Choisy in Paris. This is a continuation of his debut exhibition of the photos at Paris City Hall in October and November last year.
