A Visit to the Studio of
Artist Julie Wolfe
Saturday, June 25, 1:00 pm
This program is in-person and members-only
Please join us for an in-person visit to the Capitol Hill studio of artist Julie Wolfe. Julie will be sharing some of her latest work on paper, including her new book Wonderland: The Optical Unconscious, which is a collection of screen prints, archival prints, and off-set prints. The group will also have an opportunity to view Julie’s series of overprint, stained, and painted architectural rendering. In addition, Julie will offer a brief demonstration of the process used to create these works.
Also on view will be a new book (an edition of 200) that is currently being distributed in the U.K., Japan, and the U.S. The project is a collaboration between a photographer and Julie and employs analog photography, printing, and painting.
Julie’s studio is located in her Capitol Hill home. The address will be shared with registrants. Please note that street parking is limited. Public transportation and ride share are encouraged. The closest Metro stops are Capitol South, Eastern Market, and Union Station.
Attendance is limited to 25. Please note that some rooms in Julie’s studio will not accommodate 25 people and viewing will take place in shifts. All participants are asked to wear a mask while indoors.
WPC events tend to fill up quickly, so please RSVP as soon as you are able. You may register up to two people.
As a courtesy to your fellow WPC members, we kindly ask that if you register, but then find you cannot attend, please let us know. We will undoubtedly have a waiting list for this event and we will want to accommodate as many participants as possible.
WPC Annual Meeting Recap
Washington Print Club members and their guests enjoyed a festive, fun, and productive annual meeting on June 4. The meeting was hosted by Pyramid Atlantic and we again thank them for their extraordinary hospitality.
Meet the Winner of Our Annual Student Printmaker Award:
Theresa Cane

A highlight of the meeting was meeting this year’s winner of our Student Printmaker Award, Theresa Cane of Montgomery College. Theresa was nominated for the award by her mentor Professor Amanda Miller. Theresa has a bachelor’s degree in psychology, but has taken many courses in art and design throughout her education. Theresa shared that she “… recognized the healing potential of art while developing my portfolio of work and decided to pursue a career in art therapy. Being well-versed and curious in various mediums is a necessity in this field, as every individual has preferences in artistic expression. I was intrigued by a Global Printmaking class offered at Montgomery College last summer and began the class under Professor Amanda Miller’s tutelage. I loved the medium so much that I took her practicum course the following semester. I will be attending graduate school for art therapy and counseling this fall. This experience in relief printing will help me develop unique healing directives, as well as continue to develop mastery in art-making.”

Collectors’ Showcase

Beginning what we hope will become a regular feature of our annual meetings, four members displayed and discussed a work from their collection. Thanks to WPC members Walter Ochinko, Kate Phillips, Brigitte Reyes, and Bob Stana for their passionate and informative presentations.
Please Welcome Our Two New Board Members
Two new board members were elected at the annual meeting, Laura Roulet and Katherine (Kate) Phillips.

Current board members re-elected for another term were Jordan Benderly, Lorena Bradford, Nancy Hirshbein, Joan Root, Eve Stockton, and LuLen Walker.
