A Virtual Visit with Collector and Curator Laura Roulet
May 26, 11:00 am
Collector Laura Roulet will lead us on a virtual slide tour of her private collection of works on paper. Joining her in conversation will be prominent artists Nekisha Durrett and Julie Wolfe, both of whom live and work in the DC area.
Laura will share the ways in which she has formed an inter-generational print collection, discussing her parents’ print collecting priorities and those of herself and her husband, Rafael.
Laura’s parents Norman and Ann Roulet were longtime members of the Cleveland Print Club and supported The New Gallery, Cleveland’s first contemporary art gallery. Laura’s mother was a professor and Dean of Students at the Cleveland Institute of Art, where she was a big booster for faculty members like Julian Stanczak, and former students such as April Gornik.
Laura followed their example by supporting artists that she has worked with as a curator and bolstering non-profits in the DC region and those in her husband’s birthplace of Puerto Rico.
