Please join us for a visit to the home and studio of artist Eve Stockton on Saturday, May 17, 11:00 am.
Eve is known for her large-scale woodcut prints inspired by close observation of nature and an eclectic interest in science. She uses her educational background in architecture and art to engage the variables of printmaking, enabling her to produce a body of dynamic graphic images. Her prints are nature/science-based and have been exhibited at the National Academy of Science and have been reproduced on covers of Nature Genetic Magazine. She regularly exhibits in the Connecticut, New York, and the DMV areas. Eve has had one-person shows in Ireland and Nova Scotia. More information is available here.
Eve will be showing her new, nature-based woodcut prints in her ground floor studio. Guests will be invited to tour the three floors of her townhouse and see over 150 pieces of works on paper from her collection. Light refreshments will be served and Eve will talk about her practice and answer questions.
Eve’s studio is located in Alexandria, Va. Street parking is available. The nearest Metro station is King Street from which you will need to take a taxi or ride share to the studio.
Registration for this event is limited to 15 WPC members and their guests.
