Please join us for a September 14, 1:30 pm tour of Wild Forms: Fauve Woodcuts with Katy Rothkopf, the Anne and Ben Cone Memorial Director of the Ruth R. Marder Center for Matisse Studies at The Baltimore Museum of Art.
Featuring examples by Henri Matisse, André Derain, Maurice de Vlaminck, among others, this show examines more than a dozen woodcut prints created by those associated with the influential Fauve movement in the early years of the 20th century. Following the tour, Katy will invite the group into the Matisse Study Center, where she will show highlights of the Matisse works on paper collection at the BMA and discuss the Cone sisters of Baltimore. Additional information about the exhibition is available here.
While at the BMA, attendees may want to visit the exhibition of works by DC-based artist Martha Jackson Jarvis and the Matsumi Kanemitsu exhibition, which contains many works on paper.
Registration will be limited to 20 people and is members-only. You may register up to two people. Please note that attendees will be responsible for making their own transportation arrangements to and from the BMA and that attendees will be required to wear masks.
