The Works of Artist Werner Drewes

WPC Members-Only, In-Person

Please join us for a members-only, in person program at the Chevy Chase home of WPC member Karen Drewes Seibert, granddaughter of artist Werner Drewes and representative of Drewes Fine Art. Karen will offer us a look at works by Drewes, a Bauhaus trained printmaker, a founding member of the American Abstract Artists, a manager of the Works Progress Administration, and member of the Washington Print Club. Drewes worked in a variety of visual media from woodcuts to collage to mini-oils, which served as inspiration for his larger pieces. Karen will also offer us a look at some never-before-seen travel studies and will share her insights into the artist’s career.
