German Expressionism and it Legacy

Shelley Langdale, Curator and Head of Modern and Contemporary Prints and Drawings at the National Gallery of Art, will lead a tour of the exhibition Anxious Eye: German Expressionism and its Legacy currently on view at the National Gallery through May 27, 2024.  She will be joined by the Israeli artist Orit Hofshi whose work is included in the contemporary section of the show, who will offer her own insights and commentary on the works on view.  This will be followed by short session (1/2 hour) in the study room to view some of the German expressionist prints and drawings that were not included in the show and a discussion of the parameters and challenges of choosing works for the exhibition.
