Collector Laura Roulet will lead us on a virtual slide tour of her collection of works on paper. Joining her in conversation will be DC-area artists Nekisha Durrett and Julie Wolfe.
Laura will share the ways in which she formed an inter-generational print collection, discussing her parents’ print collecting priorities and those of herself and her husband Rafael.
Laura’s parents Norman and Ann Roulet were lontime members of the Cleveland Print Club and supported The New Gallery, Cleveland’s first contemporary art gallery. Laura’s mother was a professor and Dean of Students at the Cleveland Institute of Art, where she was a big booster for faculty members like Julian Stanczak, and former students such as April Gornik.
Laura followed their example by supporting artists that she has worked with as a curator and bolstering non-profits in the DC region and those in her husband’s birthplace of Puerto Rico.
